Receiving Results

In order to interpret a PET or PET/CT scan accurately, the radiologists and cardiologists of Columbia Kreitchman PET Center need to compare their findings with the results of previous diagnostic tests. When you refer patients to Columbia Kreitchman, please ask them to bring any relevant films on the day of their scan.

Once our physicians have reviewed the PET or PET/CT scans and related films, they write up detailed reports explaining their findings. This report is faxed to your office within 24 hours of the scan’s completion. In addition, the report and scan images are delivered to your office no later than 2 business days following the exam. Any outside films are also returned at that time. Columbia physicians are also available by telephone to further discuss their findings. If your patient has positive findings, you will receive a telephone call from a Columbia physician.
